Subject: CLUB ADVICE

The Club would like to take this opportunity to communicate its advice and recommendations on financial contributions that may be requested from any Club member who is part of a representative squad. e.g. National or District.

Unfortunately it has to be acknowledged that in today's financial climate, squad members are likely to be advised that greater personal contributions may be required to enable squad objectives and personal expectations to be achieved. If this transpires the Club strongly recommends that no member make any commitment to a contribution until the following are provided to, and acknowledged by the Club:

• a. Written explanation for the reason for the contribution.
• b. Written confirmation that the scheme has been acknowledged and agreed between the Scottish Water Polo Committee and the Scottish Amateur Swimming Association.
• c. Written accounting details of the scheme and how it is administered.
• d. Written details of safeguards to ensure that the scheme is equitable and fair for all contributors and benefactors.

The Club recommends that all such payments are made by crossed cheques and are made payable to either SASA or a SASA associated and acknowledged bank account. The Club advises members NEVER to pay cash, nor provide a cheque to any other account.

The Club will be in contact with the SWPC to ask questions on the proposed scheme and will advise you of the response.

This advice is given in the interests of individual DWPC members, the Club, all those in representative squads and everyone involved in Scottish Water Polo. It is given as responsible positive advice to prevent any future misunderstandings.
