Comment:
With a depleted team from the outset this was a game that started well with us taking a 3-1 lead and all square at 5-5 into the second period. Loss of key personnel from then however proved insurmountable. Dave Stewart suffered a sickening injury, Stewart Carlile dislocated a finger and Callum Fraser was wrapped with half of the game still to play. It is difficult to allege we would have won but the injury to Dave definitely had a negative impact on the team. That the referees did not stop the game as he was in obvious distress is point of huge concern.

Comment:
With a depleted squad this proved an insurmountable hurdle against a very able, fit and fast Invicta side. We started the game quite well but simply run out of attacking ideas and energy. Positively we gained more extra men situations than the opposition but to actually lose 4 goals whilst having a man up was a very damaging statistic.

Comment:
After a very poor start which saw us 6-1 down at half time it was a commendable effort with a weakened side to win the second half 6-5 and says much for the effort levels of the team. This cannot mask however that Solihull were always in control and inflicted our 3rd defeat of the weekend.
Reflection:
This was a very difficult weekend that started badly with late call offs and then was exacerbated with Dave Stewarts injury which has ended his national league season. We now have much work to do to salvage something from the season and try to avoid relegation or a play off.
