Development Camp - October 2005 - Carnegie Centre

The Development camp which was held last week attracted 23 players with 8 who are not Club members. Our thanks go to The Carnegie Trust who supported the event.

The youngest was Jordan McKilligan (7yrs) whose eggbeater would put many older players to shame !!

The younger group concentrated on learning the basics of passing, shooting, eggbeater and watermanship. They worked hard during their 1.5 hour sessions.

Different themes for the older players in their daily 3 hour sessions were Passing; Shooting; Man-up; Driving & Manoeuvrability, 'five lives'.
In addition fitness work which has given the players an indication of the level of work they have to put in to be a successful water polo player.
Goalkeepers were giving their own specific schedule & worked hard.

With a Scottish Academy session last weekend & their usual Club sessions most of this group have had over 20 hours of Water polo during the week - great commitment.
